Sorry about blogging sporadically these days, but my vocab is currently limited to negative semidefinite matrices and utility functions. My only break is when I grab a sub at subway and a cup of coffee at 'Mr tea'. And ofcourse reading a few pages of lolita before I go to sleep. I've been reading it for 3 weeks now...
The the bright side of all the studying though is that, micro is finally is beginning to get interesting. Probably beacuse of game theory. I watched a beautiful mind a week back, and simplicity of the argument is just brilliant.
The questions we are asked to solve are also very interesting. For example, one of the question in my assignment requires my looking into the paradox of crime prevention. ie is when the cost of committing crime is higher, the amount of crime in a scoiety increases. This is what micro should be all about. Applications, and not the bullshit that KRC taught...I'm glad that finally my mind block towards micro is disappearing. Thank God.

Comments:
utility functions and a little lolita in the evenings?!! ai ai ai you little monster. ok, incidentally, can you switch to beta, it turns out i can no longer comment on non-beta blogs since i jumped headlong in without testing the waters first. Soy!

yeah. think that's what happened when i composed this very witty reply to your apanish and it did not get published. felt a little disillusioned by that.
Switch to beta. Let my try..Life is such. 'Lolita' had me a little surprised. Didn't quite expect such content. But he writes so beautifully. I have this book called the annotated lolita, so I can understand the french bits(it's french isn't it?) and the other references.

You should read Freakonomics.
Although some of the questions it answers are pointless (such as "what do Sumo wrestlers have in common with school teachers?"), it's a fun read. Especially if you understand eco.
Give it a look-see, if you have the time.

Hello anonynous. I have infact read freakonomics and quite enjoyed it. Think th earmchair econmist is also along the same lines..do i know you?

Soy!
