The cost of being polite.
I have a chronic problem. I am extremely polite. Even to the unsavory.
This habit of mine, of replying to anyone and everyone, has won me many a dumbf*&ks friendship and later my wrath.
Yesterday, I got my first crash course on "when and how much to be polite?" by Shwetha Chiramel.
a. When asked by a someone (especially one looking like a thug) "Excuse me, are you from Brunei"- I must reply "No" and move on. And not venture to correct him and answer all his questions matter of factly.
b. To Always turn my head away after the first question, so there is no scope for the next one
c. Never give out my email id or my phone number-especially to the harmless looking one's who seem very lost without my help (I've learned lessons the hard way here)
Anyway, to those wondering where exactly is Brunei, here's a little wiki info
"Brunei, (IPA: [bru·ˈnaʲ]) officially the Negara Brunei Darussalam (Malay: Negara Brunei Darussalam, Jawi: برني دارالسلام ), is a country located on the island of Borneo, in Southeast Asia. Apart from its coastline with the South China Sea it is completely surrounded by the state of Sarawak, East Malaysia. Brunei, the remnant of a very powerful sultanate, regained its independence from the United Kingdom on 1 January 1984."
What kind of pick up line is this anyway. My exact thoughts were "What a dumbf%^k". Shwetha's got the more flattering ones though, like "Are you italian?". Although once I was asked by a Cabbie if I was Persian. He said my "Blue"(they are brown) eyes really made me look Persian. Hmm. The people here are amusing.

Depends on when you last saw me. Not particularly, although my face is looking fat. People describe me as 'broad!' Why? heard rumours?

hmm i dont if u know this, but i almost grew up in brunei. my dad got a job there and my parents were almost on the verge of moving when they realised they loved mallu land too much :)
