Robert Zoellick is the US nominee for the 11th president of the World Bank.

A Harvard Law Grad, a Civil War addict, a staunch republican party supporter, and on the good side of both Bush andCheney while not part of their inner circle. The right mix, especially given Bush's weakened influence.

From what I read, this man seems to be the right kind of Chief the World bank is in need of.
Krishna Guha of FT says he is " an efficient decision maker with a commitment to meritocracy-which may appeal to the Bank staff".

After all the ridicule the World Bank has been facing( its turn after the IMF Asian Financial crises fiasco), someone with such broad based support and stong integrity and character is exactly what the World Bank needs.

Here's hoping less scandals and more good work come out of the World Bank.
