A Year in the Lion city

I'm glad I came here. Singapore is a wonderful and unique place. I also speak like a Singaporean. I've made many wonderful friends, of different age and nationalities. Mostly the academic kind..and soon i'll have a home(flat) here..

I got some positive feedback on my thesis.
I had a startling forecast for skill premium, and my examiner said, maybe Krugman will be interested in your result...adding, if it is robust, ofcourse. I hope it is robust!

If my result is good, maybe I'll continue to work on it and apply for a PhD.

Think I'm going to go into depression, now that my masters in over:( An absolutely enlightening year! Made up for the shit served as "economics honours" at Stephen's.

I've managed to keep afloat for the next couple of months with a flexible research position with private investment fund management firm. Work involves a lot of reading of papers and research reports. Should be a good learning experience. Also gives me time to continue to work on my paper to make it more "robust". Hmm. Also have a lot of books pending and a lot of movies and music to catch up on. Gotta meet up with friends and family soon. Gotta eat hot idlis and vadas at 'Veena stores' in Malleswaram..Yummy! Anjana, I should take you there. The softest idlis and the yummiest vadas in the world!

But first I need to get air tickets. I might just be building castles in thin air here...

Just watched shawshank. Had not seen it..would you believe it! Now i'll get back to polishing my thesis!
